Quick answer

RoboVac Error 2 means a wheel may be stuck or trapped. Clear any obstacles around the robot, check the wheel for trapped dust or hair, and move the robot to a new position before trying again.

Safety first

Stop and check this first

  • Do not open the robot to reach the wheel motors: keep your inspection to removing visible debris and to the swivel wheel the manual lets you pull out, always with the robot off.

Safe checks you can perform

  • Clear the area and move the robot
  • Inspect the drive wheels without disassembly
  • Clean the front swivel wheel
  • Turn the robot off and on again

Leave these tasks to a qualified professional

  • Do not attempt this professional task: Wheel module review by eufy support
  • Do not attempt this professional task: Wheel replacement by authorized service

What a technician must be able to justify

Technician visit

These are the steps they must carry out and show you. Tick them as they work: if steps are skipped, do not accept a part swap.

These are not instructions for opening or handling the equipment yourself. They are the checks that should support a technical conclusion.

  1. Wheel module review by eufy support

What they doIf Error 2 continues with the area clear and the wheels clean, eufy support reviews the case and decides whether the wheel module needs service.

They must show youthe case number and which wheel or module their diagnosis points to.

In writingthe diagnosis, whether the repair is covered by warranty and whether the wheel or the whole module is replaced.

  2. Wheel replacement by authorized service

What they doIf a drive wheel has to be replaced, eufy's authorized service fits it and tests the assembled robot.

They must show youthe removed wheel and the robot driving without Error 2 after the replacement.

In writingthe part replaced, whether it is new or refurbished and the warranty on the work.

Before accepting a part or repair

Nothing has been shown yet. Do not accept a part swap based on the code alone.

Follow these steps

Note: Follow the documented order. An error code identifies the affected system, but it does not prove by itself which part has failed.

  1. Clear the area and move the robot

    No special tools

    Who:
    you, with the robot stopped.
    How:
remove cables, clothing, rug fringes or other obstacles around the robot, lift it and set it down in a new position on a flat floor before starting it again, as eufy instructs.
    Result that matters:
the robot drives off without repeating Error 2.
    If it moves normally:
the obstacle was the cause; tidy that area or set it as a no-go zone in the app.
If the alert returns even with the area clear:
turn the robot off and inspect the wheels.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of where it stopped and of whatever was blocking the wheel.

Evidence: X8/LR20/LR30/L35 Series RoboVac Voice Alerts and Solution · RoboVac X8 Owner's Manual

  2. Inspect the drive wheels without disassembly

    No special tools

    Who:
you, with the robot off and upside down on a soft surface.
    How:
look at both side wheels and their wells: remove by hand any hair, thread or trapped dust you can see, and turn each wheel with your fingers to feel whether it moves freely and springs back out when pressed.
    Result that matters:
no wheel has tangled debris or feels braked.
If you find debris and the wheels turn freely:
test the robot again on a flat floor.
If a wheel stays stiff or will not turn:
do not take it apart and prepare the case for eufy support.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of each wheel before and after cleaning.

Evidence: X8/LR20/LR30/L35 Series RoboVac Voice Alerts and Solution

  3. Clean the front swivel wheel

    No special tools

    Who:
    you, with the robot off.
    How:
follow the X8 manual: pull out the swivel wheel, remove any hair or debris wrapped around the wheel or tangled inside the wheel cavity, and push it back in until it clicks. Do not clean it with water. eufy recommends doing this once a month.
    Result that matters:
the swivel wheel turns freely and is firmly seated.
If hair or dirt comes out:
refit the wheel, turn the robot on and check that the alert does not return.
If the wheel was clean and the alert continues:
restart the robot and, if it persists, contact eufy.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of the wheel and its cavity before and after cleaning.

  4. Turn the robot off and on again

    No special tools

    Who:
you, with the robot off the charging base.
    How:
press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds to turn it off, wait 3 seconds, then press and hold it for 3 seconds again until the power status light turns solid blue, as the X8 manual describes.
    Result that matters:
the robot starts a cleaning run without repeating Error 2.
If it starts with no alert:
note what you cleaned or moved beforehand, because that was the cause.
If Error 2 returns straight away:
stop retrying and prepare the case for eufy support.
    Evidence to keep:
the time of the alert, the exact model (bottom label) and whether the alert always appears in the same spot at home.

What it means

In eufy's voice alert table for the X8, LR20, LR30 and L35 series, and in the RoboVac X8 Owner's Manual, Error 2 means a wheel may be stuck or trapped. eufy asks you to clear obstacles in the surrounding area, check the wheel for trapped dust and move the robot to a new position. It is different from Error 7 (wheel suspended in the air) and Error S2 (wheel module error). Other eufy models may number their alerts differently. The code alone never proves that a wheel or its motor is faulty.

Warnings and stop conditions

  • Mediumeditorial warning

Do not open the robot to reach the wheel motors: keep your inspection to removing visible debris and to the swivel wheel the manual lets you pull out, always with the robot off.

Symptoms and causes

Probable causes · in order

  • An obstacle blocking a wheelCommon

eufy asks you to clear obstacles in the surrounding area: cables, rug fringes or low furniture can stop a wheel and trigger the alert.

Evidence: X8/LR20/LR30/L35 Series RoboVac Voice Alerts and Solution · RoboVac X8 Owner's Manual

  • Hair or dust tangled in the wheelsCommon

eufy says to check the wheel for trapped dust, and the manual warns that hair and debris easily get tangled in the swivel wheel.

Evidence: X8/LR20/LR30/L35 Series RoboVac Voice Alerts and Solution · RoboVac X8 Owner's Manual

  • Fault that persists with clean wheelsLess common

If the alert keeps coming back with clean, free wheels, or the robot moves on to Error S2, eufy refers you to its customer support.
