Quick answer

Ferroli A06 means there is no flame after the ignition phase and the boiler locks out. Check gas is reaching it, reset once by pressing reset for one second and, if it does not start, call an authorised technician.

Safety first

Stop and check this first

  • If you smell gas, do not reset: do not touch switches or light flames, open windows, close the gas valve if it is within reach, leave and call your distributor's emergency number from outside. Ferroli says to disconnect the boiler when it fails and have it repaired only by an authorised technician.
  • Do not chain resets with A06: Ferroli says that if the boiler does not restart, the fault must be fixed. Do not open the boiler or touch the electrode, burner or trap.

Safe checks you can perform

  • Gas supply
  • One reset with the reset key
  • Combustion check by an authorised technician

Leave these tasks to a qualified professional

  • Do not attempt this professional task: Ionisation electrode check

What a technician must be able to justify

Technician visit

These are the steps they must carry out and show you. Tick them as they work: if steps are skipped, do not accept a part swap.

These are not instructions for opening or handling the equipment yourself. They are the checks that should support a technical conclusion.

  1. Ionisation electrode check

What they doThe technician checks the ionisation electrode's position, condition and wiring and measures the flame signal.

They must show youthe electrode inspected and the flame reading.

In writingwhether it was cleaned, repositioned or replaced and why.

  2. Trap and duct check with final analysis

What they doThe technician cleans the trap if needed, checks ducts and terminals and runs a combustion analysis.

They must show youthe analyser printout.

In writingthe condition of the trap and ducts and the measured values.

Before accepting a part or repair

Nothing has been shown yet. Do not accept a part swap based on the code alone.

Follow these steps

Note: Follow the documented order. An error code identifies the affected system, but it does not prove by itself which part has failed.

  1. Gas supply

    No special tools

    Who:
    you.
    How:
check the gas valve before the boiler is open, as Ferroli requires for start-up, and whether the gas hob works. Do not touch anything inside the boiler.
    Result that matters:
    whether gas reaches the home.
If the valve was closed or there is no gas:
open it or call your distributor.
    If there is gas:
the cause is in the boiler or its flue.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of the valve and a note of whether the hob worked.

  2. One reset with the reset key

    No special tools

    Who:
    you.
    How:
press the reset key for one second, as Ferroli says for A lockouts.
    Result that matters:
whether the boiler restarts and keeps a flame.
    If it restarts:
note the date; if A06 returns, call the technician.
If it does not restart or A06 returns at once:
Ferroli says the fault must be fixed; disconnect the boiler and call an authorised technician.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of the display with A06 and the time.

Evidence: Ferroli BLUEHELIX TECH RRT 28 C instrucciones de uso instalación y mantenimiento

  3. Combustion check by an authorised technician

    Tools required

    Who:
    authorised gas technician.
    How:
checks the ionisation electrode, burner, trap and air and flue ducts, and runs a combustion analysis.
    Result that matters:
which of the causes in Ferroli's table is present.
If ducts or trap are blocked:
    that confirms that cause.
    If they are clear:
it points to the electrode or burner.
    Evidence to keep:
a report with what was checked, the combustion analysis and any part replaced.

Ferroli reserves repairs and component replacement for authorised technicians: electrode, burner and ducts are not the user's job.

What it means

In the BlueHelix Tech RRT fault table, A06 is "no flame after the ignition phase". Ferroli lists as causes an ionisation electrode fault, an unstable flame, blocked air or flue ducts and a blocked condensate trap. Codes with A are permanent lockouts reset with the reset key; if the boiler does not restart, the cause must be fixed. A06 differs from A01, where the burner never lights.

Warnings and stop conditions

  • Criticaleditorial warning

If you smell gas, do not reset: do not touch switches or light flames, open windows, close the gas valve if it is within reach, leave and call your distributor's emergency number from outside. Ferroli says to disconnect the boiler when it fails and have it repaired only by an authorised technician.

  • Highsource verified

Do not chain resets with A06: Ferroli says that if the boiler does not restart, the fault must be fixed. Do not open the boiler or touch the electrode, burner or trap.

Symptoms and causes

Probable causes · in order

  • Ionisation electrodePossible

Ferroli says to check its position and replace it if needed. If the burner lights and goes out at once with correct gas, it is the first suspect.

  • Unstable flamePossible

Ferroli says to check the burner. A flame that will not hold can come from combustion, not the electrode.

  • Blocked air or flue ductsPossible

Ferroli says to clear the chimney, ducts and terminals. It often coincides with wind, ice or nests at the terminal.

  • Blocked condensate trapPossible

Ferroli says to check and clean the trap. A full trap prevents stable combustion; the technician checks it.
