Quick answer

On a Beko dishwasher, E:01 flashes when the machine detects it has taken in too much water or that a component is leaking. Let it try to drain; if the warning does not clear, switch it off, turn off the tap, unplug it and call the authorised service.

Safety first

Stop and check this first

  • With water on the floor, unplug before drying and never handle the plug or cable with wet hands; repairs inside the appliance are for the service engineer only.

Safe checks you can perform

  • Wait for the machine to try to drain
  • Switch off, turn off the tap and unplug
  • Look at the visible hose connections

Leave these tasks to a qualified professional

  • Do not attempt this professional task: Locating the leak or excess water
  • Do not attempt this professional task: Checking Aquasafe+ and the hoses
  • Do not attempt this professional task: Test programme without E:01

What a technician must be able to justify

Technician visit

These are the steps they must carry out and show you. Tick them as they work: if steps are skipped, do not accept a part swap.

These are not instructions for opening or handling the equipment yourself. They are the checks that should support a technical conclusion.

  1. Locating the leak or excess water

What they doThe Beko authorised service opens the appliance, finds the component that is leaking or the reason too much water comes in, and fixes it.

They must show youwhere the leak was or what let too much water in, and the part involved.

In writingthe cause found, the part replaced with its reference and the reason.

  2. Checking Aquasafe+ and the hoses

What they doOn models with Aquasafe+, the engineer checks that inlet hose system and the inlet and drain connections.

They must show youthe condition of the Aquasafe+ hose and of the inlet and drain connections.

In writingwhat was checked, what was replaced and whether the connections were left leak-free.

  3. Test programme without E:01

What they doAfter the repair, the engineer runs a full programme and checks that the machine takes in the right amount of water and finishes without the E:01 warning.

They must show youthe test programme finished without E:01 and the area underneath dry.

In writingthe programme used, the result and the date of the test.

Before accepting a part or repair

Nothing has been shown yet. Do not accept a part swap based on the code alone.

Follow these steps

Note: Follow the documented order. An error code identifies the affected system, but it does not prove by itself which part has failed.

  1. Wait for the machine to try to drain

    No special tools

    Who:
    you, without opening the appliance.
    How:
when E:01 is flashing, do not force the door or change programme straight away: Beko explains that while the overflow continues the safety algorithm is active and tries to discharge the water. Watch whether the warning goes off by itself after a while.
    Result that matters:
knowing whether the dishwasher restores safety on its own.
If E:01 disappears: the overflow stopped; watch the next washes in case it returns.
If E:01 does not disappear: Beko calls this a permanent fault; switch off, turn off the tap and unplug.
    Evidence to keep:
time E:01 appeared, the programme running and whether it cleared by itself.

  2. Switch off, turn off the tap and unplug

    No special tools

    Who:
    you.
    How:
if the warning stays, press the On/Off button to switch the dishwasher off, turn off the water inlet tap and unplug the appliance, as the manual describes at the end of a programme. If there is water on the floor, dry it only once the appliance is unplugged and never touch the plug with wet hands.
    Result that matters:
the dishwasher left with no water supply and no power until it is checked.
If there was water on the floor or in the cabinet:
note it and do not use the appliance again until the engineer has checked it.
If no water is visible outside:
still look at the visible connections before calling.
    Evidence to keep:
photos of the floor, the plinth and the tap area.

  3. Look at the visible hose connections

    No special tools

    Who:
you, with the appliance unplugged and the tap off.
    How:
without dismantling anything, look at where the inlet hose meets the tap and at the visible part of the drain hose. Beko says both hoses must be securely fastened and undamaged, and that you check for leaks when opening the taps after connecting them. If your model has Aquasafe+, never shorten or extend that hose: it contains electrical connections.
    Result that matters:
seeing whether there is dripping, damp or damage at the connections you can see.
If the tap connection drips or the hose is damaged:
keep the tap off and tell the engineer.
If everything is dry and undamaged:
the leak or excess water would be inside the appliance; call the service.
    Evidence to keep:
photos of the tap connection, the drain hose and any damp marks.

What it means

Beko's manuals (Spanish and English BDEN38640F) call this the overflowing warning: if the dishwasher takes in too much water or there is leakage at any of its components, it detects this and E:01 flashes on the programme indicator. While it lasts, a safety algorithm tries to discharge the water. If the overflow stops and safety is assured, E:01 disappears; if it does not, Beko describes a permanent fault and says to contact the authorised service. The code alone never proves which part is faulty.

Symptoms and causes

Probable causes · in order

  • Too much water taken inCommon

Beko says E:01 appears when the machine takes in too much water; the machine itself tries to correct this by draining while the warning stays on.

    Evidence: Lavavajillas Beko: Manual de Instrucciones (doc. 15 0152 06 00, ES) · Beko Dishwasher User's Manual BDEN38640FG / BDEN38530FX

  • Leak at one of the appliance componentsPossible

The manual gives leakage at any of the components as the second cause; finding and repairing it inside the appliance is a job for the service engineer.

    Evidence: Lavavajillas Beko: Manual de Instrucciones (doc. 15 0152 06 00, ES) · Beko Dishwasher User's Manual BDEN38640FG / BDEN38530FX

  • Permanent fault that does not clearPossible

If E:01 does not disappear after the safety algorithm has tried to drain, Beko treats it as a permanent fault for the authorised service to check.
