Risk level

Low

Usually safe to check without specialist tools.

Urgency

Medium

Quick answer

On Candy dishwashers, E2 (or CHECK WATER on some models) means the appliance does not fill with water. Check that the tap is open, that the hose is not kinked, the anti sand filter at the inlet and the height of the drain pipe.

Safety first

Stop and check this first

  • Before loosening the inlet hose always close the tap and unplug the dishwasher; if the hose has a Waterblock box, do not cut it, because it contains live parts.

Safe checks you can perform

  • Supply tap and household water
  • Inlet hose without kinks
  • Anti sand filter of the inlet hose
  • Drain pipe height

Leave these tasks to a qualified professional

  • Do not attempt this professional task: Check of the inlet circuit
  • Do not attempt this professional task: Test programme with a fill

What a technician must be able to justify

Technician visit

These are the steps they must carry out and show you. Tick them as they work: if steps are skipped, do not accept a part swap.

These are not instructions for opening or handling the equipment yourself. They are the checks that should support a technical conclusion.

  1. Check of the inlet circuit

What they doIf the tap, hose and filter are fine, the technician checks why water does not get into the appliance.

They must show youwhat stopped the water coming in and how it was verified.

In writingwhat was found, the part changed if any and its reference.

  2. Test programme with a fill

What they doOnce the repair is done, the technician runs a programme and waits for the dishwasher to take in water and start washing.

They must show youthe dishwasher filling and a programme without E2 or CHECK WATER.

In writingthe test programme, whether it filled normally and the date.

Before accepting a part or repair

Nothing has been shown yet. Do not accept a part swap based on the code alone.

Follow these steps

Note: Follow the documented order. An error code identifies the affected system, but it does not prove by itself which part has failed.

  1. Supply tap and household water

    No special tools

    Who:
    you, no tools needed.
    How:
check that the tap feeding the dishwasher hose is fully open and open the sink tap to confirm water is coming through. The manual asks for a pressure between 0.08 and 0.8 MPa.
    Result that matters:
confirming that water reaches the appliance inlet.
If the tap was closed or the water was off:
open it, switch the dishwasher off and restart the programme.
    If water arrives normally:
    check the inlet hose.
    Evidence to keep:
note of the tap position and the message on the display.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  2. Inlet hose without kinks

    No special tools

    Who:
    you, with the Candy off.
    How:
follow the hose from the tap to the back of the dishwasher, look under the sink and in the cabinet gap, and straighten any crushed or folded section.
    Result that matters:
a water path with no squeezed sections.
    If it was folded:
lay it straight and try again.
    If it is straight:
look at the mesh filter at the tap end next.
    Evidence to keep:
    photo of the hose route.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  3. Anti sand filter of the inlet hose

    No special tools

    Who:
you, stopcock shut and plug pulled.
    How:
close the tap, unscrew the supply hose at the inlet and look at the small mesh at its end; if it holds sand or rust, rinse it under water and screw the hose back on firmly.
    Result that matters:
a clean inlet filter and a connection that does not leak.
    If it was dirty:
after cleaning, open the tap, check for drips and run a programme.
    If the mesh was clean:
measure how high the drain sits.
    Evidence to keep:
photo of the mesh before and after cleaning.

Open the tap slowly when finished and watch the thread: if it drips, tighten it again.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  4. Drain pipe height

    Tools required

    Who:
    you, with a ruler.
    How:
see where the drain hose discharges. Candy asks for the standpipe to be at least 40 cm above the floor with an internal diameter of at least 4 cm, and for the hose bend not to sit in water.
    Result that matters:
knowing whether the installation matches what the manual asks.
If the drain is lower or submerged:
correct it following the installation section or ask for help.
If everything is right and E2 stays:
call the Candy Authorised Customer Service Centre.
    Evidence to keep:
photo with the measured drain height.

A ruler is all you need; do not cut or extend hoses yourself.

What it means

In the manual for the Candy CDIN 2D360PBR dishwasher (edition 23.01), E2 with a short audio signal means the dishwasher does not fill with water; some models show CHECK WATER. Without a display, the fault appears as two flashes of the LEDs, a 5 second pause and two flashes again. Candy gives four checks: supply open, supply hose free of bends, drain pipe at the installation height and the sand filter of the supply hose clean. This code does not prove there is a faulty part inside the appliance either: the usual starting point is the water connection.

Warnings and stop conditions

  • Loweditorial warning

Before loosening the inlet hose always close the tap and unplug the dishwasher; if the hose has a Waterblock box, do not cut it, because it contains live parts.

Symptoms and causes

Probable causes · in order

  • Tap closed or no mains waterCommon

It is Candy's first check for E2; the other faults table also names a closed tap when the dishwasher does not fill.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  • Supply hose kinkedPossible

An inlet hose crushed or folded when the unit is pushed under the worktop lets very little water through; Candy asks you to remove those bends.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  • Clogged anti sand filter at the inletPossible

The inlet mesh traps sand and rust from the pipes; the manual recommends running water for a few minutes on new or unused pipework so it does not clog.

Evidence: Candy dishwasher CDIN 2D360PBR user manual IT/DE/EN/FR (41051442.A)

  • Drain pipe badly positionedPossible

Candy includes the drain height in the E2 checks: the standpipe must be at least 40 cm up and the hose end must not sit in water.
