Risk level

Low

Usually safe to check without specialist tools.

Urgency

Low

Quick answer

The TV has no network cable plugged in and is not joined to a Wi-Fi network. Plug in the cable or choose your Wi-Fi network; LG recommends the 2.4GHz band. If it drops often, restart the router and check the network name and signal.

Safety first

Stop and check this first

  • Changing the 5GHz channel width affects every device at home: LG recommends checking with your provider first.

Safe checks you can perform

  • Cable or Wi-Fi network
  • Router restart, software and quick start
  • Network name and Wi-Fi signal

Leave these tasks to a qualified professional

  • Do not attempt this professional task: Internet provider for router changes

What a technician must be able to justify

A technician is coming

These are the steps they must carry out and show you. Tick them as they work: if steps are skipped, do not accept a part swap.

These are not instructions for opening or handling the equipment yourself. They are the checks that should support a technical conclusion.

  1. Internet provider for router changes

What they doThe provider adjusts the band, channel width or network name on the router.

They must show youthe settings applied.

    In writingthe router changes made.

  2. LG customer support

What they doIf the TV will not connect with a good signal and a short name, LG reviews the case.

They must show youthe case number.

    In writingthe diagnosis.

Before accepting a part or repair

Nothing has been shown yet. Do not accept a part swap based on the code alone.

Checks and evidence, step by step

Follow the documented order. An error code identifies the affected system, but it does not prove by itself which part has failed.

  1. 1

    Cable or Wi-Fi network

    No special tools

    Procedure

    Who:
    you.
    How:
in Settings, Network, plug in the network cable or choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. If you can, use the 2.4GHz network.
    Result that matters:
whether the status changes to connected with internet access.
    If it does:
    the TV only needed connecting.
If it changes to connected but no internet:
the problem is the router or line.
    If it stays not connected:
restart the router and check the network name.
    Evidence to keep:
a photo of the Network status.

  2. 2

Router restart, software and quick start

    No special tools

    Procedure

    Who:
    you.
    How:
restart the router. Check the TV has the latest webOS version. Turn off the TV's quick start feature, then turn the TV off and on.
    Result that matters:
whether the network appears and connects after these steps.
    If it connects:
the router or quick start mode was the cause.
    If not:
check the network name and signal.
    Evidence to keep:
    the webOS version.

    Evidence: Fallos de red

  3. 3

    Network name and Wi-Fi signal

    No special tools

    Procedure

    Who:
    you.
    How:
check the network name (SSID) is under 12 characters and change it if needed. Measure signal strength with an app such as Wi-Fi Analyzer; for streaming LG asks for at least a good signal. On 2.4GHz LG recommends a fixed 20MHz channel width.
    Result that matters:
whether with a short name and good signal the TV connects reliably.
    If it does:
the name or coverage was the cause.
    If not:
contact LG with screenshots of the readings.
    Evidence to keep:
screenshots of signal strength and channel.

    Evidence: Fallos de red

What it means

On webOS, Settings, Network shows "Not connected" (LG Spain's wording, translated) when no network cable is connected and the TV is not on any Wi-Fi network. LG recommends 2.4GHz over 5GHz because it is more robust against interference, and explains some TVs work around 40MHz and may not see a 5GHz network set above that. LG's network guide adds a network name under 12 characters and checking signal strength. The status does not indicate a fault.
